What OTP verification is and why it makes reviews more reliable

The problem with anonymous reviews

When anyone can publish an opinion without identifying themselves, the system fills up with noise: bots, paid reputation campaigns and attacks on competitors. The star average stops meaning anything.

How verification works at TrustedFunders

OTP stands for One-Time Password: a single-use code. The process goes like this:

1. You write your review and give us your email address.
2. We send a 6-digit code to that address, which expires within minutes.
3. You enter the code to confirm the email is yours and active.
4. Only then does the review move on to the human moderation queue.

Without a verified code, the review is never published.

What this achieves

• Stopping bots: automating mass publishing becomes expensive and slow.
• Traceability: if a review turns out to be fraudulent, there is a real email address associated with it that lets us act.
• A limit per person: it makes it much harder for one person to inflate a company's score with dozens of accounts.
